I saw McCoy and his trio about a year ago in Austin TX at this posh
little intimate theater called One World. Expect plenty of standards
(Ellington, ahhh... but no 'Trane) and plenty of improv. I was right by
the drummer and was completely blown away/enraptured by this guy's (I
can't remember his name, I think he was French and dreaded up) skills.
McCoy was incredible especially when he soloed on the mellow stuff,
making that piano sound like a string section, and he was of course a
very classy and charming brother. All in all one of the best live
performances I've ever seen.
ps: watch out for a Stevie Wonder cover.
