I wouldn't really put those guys in the 2 step genre. I've heard some people say that their style is "brokenbeat" (One more genre to keep tabs on). I find that they go across the board though.

IG Culture, Bugz in the Attic, Seiji, Dego, Nubian Mindz, Mustang, and friends are definitely on my "buy on sight" list when I go to the record store. I'm also liking what Hidden Agenda has been putting out lately.

thanks for the info on the 2-step to all who responded. i've been checking
out some tracks on the Heavyweight Sound website. really nice stuff! I'm
especially feelin the MJ Cole & Artful Dodger tracks.

though, i gotta say, what's up with the General MIDI piano sounds on some of
these songs? or maybe it's just pitched up samples or something. sounds
helluva cheezy on a couple tracks (Wookie "what's going on" & Basslick come
    to mind) :)

not that it matters, but are people like Bugz in the Attic & the IG Culture
crew considered part of this 2step crowd?

    thanks,
    g
