Senor Coconut is yet another alias for Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom Heart, Lisa
Carbon, etc.), one of the most prolific German electronic artists. In
addition to running his own label (Rather Interesting), Uwe has released
albums on Fax, Rephlex, Hypnotism, Kk, and probably several other labels I
can't remember at the moment. His work is stylistically erratic...you never
know what to expect next...and while some of it is sublime, some of it can
be really irritating. He's a digital freakazoid...practically every track
he creates has been edited down to the nanosecond. But a lot of it turns
out sounding surprisingly warm. His Senor Coconut and Lisa Carbon albums
would probably be of most interest to this list, since they are usually
jazzy.
I think the Kraftwerk album is brilliant. :-)
