Erik, thanks for the reply. I dig some of what you're saying, but until we
agree to disagree:), I'll just say this:
MTV should give the people what they want
not what they think we want to see.
Change of Heart skits and black Barbie Dolls? Man, please...
If they're the end all and be all, then I'll see ya'll,
'cause this world's obviously in free fall.
And if the trees grow tall in Manhattan,
it's only 'cause they're tappin' into the art that is rappin'.
I didn't find myself laughing,
but rather shakin' my head.
It's really true...De La Soul *is* dead!
But not soul music, if you know how to use it,
and check sucka niggas and corporations that abuse it.
As for me? I'm content where I sit,
Eat, pay rent *and* separate beauty from bullshit.
See, I don't give nothing 'em but what they ask for,
and if they ask for Backstreet or N'Sync, then I gladly give 'em the door.
But hip-hop is my life, I'd like to see it respected,
not on some clown shit, what we create, they choose to wreck it.

So, artists should guarantee there street creed by making sure no one
ever hears them? The problem is that MTV is really all there is
(just ask the anti-trusters in the DOJ who are taking a look.) But,
I do have to say it was certainly funnier than anything I've seen on
SNL lately (meaning laughing with not at.) But, you know that BET
ceritianly isn't helping. Just, but glad they're not filling it up
with Cristina Aguilla's favorite videos. And as from the list of
websites in your .sig it doesn't strike me that you can give them
what they "NEED" than what they want. I leave you with the motto of
the great UK magazine _The Economist_
"to take part in "a severe contest between intelligence, which
presses forward, and an unworthy, timid ignorance obstructing our
progress."
Its just cable TV ;)
