Hello Again
Sty News, broadcasting to you via the wonders of the internet. Incidentally whilst on the subject of sties did you know that the Tamworth pig, famous for the quality of its pork, is an endangered species. There are less than 100 breeding females still alive in Britain today. Visit Home Farm at Wimpole Hall, Cambs (nr Royston) and see them plus piglets at home in their sty.
So what's happening ?
Baby Mammoth will be appearing with Richard Dorfmeister at The Audioroom, WUK, Wahringer Str. 59, Vienna, on Saturday 4th March @ around 22h.
On the 27th March Baby Mammoth embark on a three week tour of the USA & Canada. Subject to confirmation the following cities are currently on their itinerary:
Atlanta, Seattle, Victoria Island, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Boulder, Portland, Chicago, Toronto and Montreal. Further details will be emailed and posted to the website when they are confirmed.
And on Saturday 15th April 2000, Leggobeast and Bullitnuts are appearing at The Millennium Club in Wuertzberg, Austria.
So get along and support those porksters.
Recent Releases and what the press think (mmm nice)
Baby Mammoth
Motion Without Pain CD (Pork 065)
Six albums in five years from the dubbed-out duo.
YUP, you read it right. Six albums in half a decade has to make you wonder just what Mark Blissenden and Andrew Burdall - aka Baby Mammoth - do with their days. Bloody slackers. Such prodigious output may lead you to question the pair's quality control, but their last album 'Swimming' was their best yet as they introduced some tasty live musicians into their mellow soundscapes - a trend that continues on Motion Without Pain, which blends the organic muso touches with tight sequenced digi-funk to great effect. Another 60 minutes of elegantly crafted head music.

Dustin
Love Is 12" (Pork 067)
The first release by the enigmatic DJ and poet Dustin and it's damn fine. Keeping true to Pork traditions of chilled out tunes with balls of fire, Dustin packs a punchy beat and jazzy knap-sack. Flitting from breakbeat to four-four at the drop of a hat, 'Love Is' slides and glides across the scattered rhythms of 90's jazz electronica. Not exactly peaktime stuff, but the more you listen the more you'll love. Trust me.

Moss
East Coast Chip Shop CD (Pork 064)
Snoggable beats from Hull. The newest edition to Hull's sizzling Pork label, Moss is Bernard Moss, the wind section of stable mate Fila Brazillia, those cocks of the north and purveyors of the finest classy loungin' jazz/techno around. Moss has caught the bug to produce some mellow funk of his own. But shirking comparisons with his mentor East Coast Chip Shop stands up brilliantly on its own merits: the 70's soul sample of Retread Lightly is divine, the huggable breakbeat funk of Moth will cut through any dancefloor and, possibly best of all, Plomb du Cantal is one of the funniest 'ambient' tracks in ages. Over choice snoozy rhythms, a voice is heard crying "This shirt ... it stinks !" Guess you have to be there.
