>>So, this week's "Jazzadelica" was an
>>all-remix special: some of my favorite
>>remixes from the past, plus a few new
>>ones thrown into the mix.
> hey mark, what a tracklisting! it's a brilliant idea, but i'm hungry
now! what about labels? they're some mixes i've never hear about... maybe
with the label ID, i could find it...
Sorry June, with the additional remixer info it was too hard to fit much
more onto the playlist this time! But here's the info you wanted:
>
>> DJ Cheb i Sabbah Bedouin Ascent Ganga Dev
From MAHA MAYA, a new album of remixes from SHRI DURGA on Six Degrees Records.
>> Airto Frederic Galliano Be There
From REVENGE OF THE KILLER BEES, remixes of Airto on M.E.L.T. 2000/Electric
M.E.L.T. This is an absolutely fantastic album! Other remixers include
Endemic Void, Jimpster, Ashley Beedle, and more. It was compiled by Tony
Thorpe of Language. Get it!
>> Wu-Tang Clan Funkstorung Reunited
From ADDITIONAL PRODUCTIONS, Funkstorung remixes on Studio !K7. Again, I
love this record. Highly recommended.
>> Samia Farah Demon Cool
> is it a mix from the parisian housey Demon?
Yep. On a 12" from Sony/France. Got it from GrooveDis.
>> Moloko Dr. Rockit Fun for Me
> an alternative to "Sing it back" from the same people?! how is this?
"Fun for Me" was Moloko's first big hit. This is from an old 12" on
Echo/UK but the mix is widely available on CD-single in the U.S. Doesn't
keep much of the original vocal but if you're already familiar with the
song, it's a fun take on it.
>> Urban Species New Sector Move- Woman
> great gem. is it only on promo or am i wrong?
Not sure. I have it on an EP of tracks from the OFF LIMITS mix CD on Sonar
Kollectiv/Germany. I don't recall if it was a promo-only release or not.
I know that GrooveDis has it right now on a Talkin' Loud promo, though.
The OFF LIMITS mix CD is really great, too. Starts out in VERY deep house
mode and then gets more abstract.

>thanks for the infos... are they any shows exchange through this list? it
could be pretty cool to exchange shows, on a ponctuel schedule, uh? (exotic
idea...)
>so i give 150 of my baaaaaaaaaaaaad shows to get a mister turner residence
on my french radio!!!
>peace and respect

Right now I'm REALLY backed up on making tapes for people that have already
been promised. But give me a few weeks and then ask me again. :-)
BTW I was talking to some of the people at KFJC about archiving some of our
programs on the net. They said it was not feasible due to music licensing
issues with BMI/ASCAP. Apparently if you're netcasting a live stream the
licensing fees are already covered in the standard broadcast license fees
but if you have programming available "on demand," you have to pay
additional licensing fees, which would be the same as if you were releasing
a CD of those tracks. In other words, it would be cost-prohibitive. I'm
sure there's still some amount of interpretation in the legality/illegality
of all this, but that is the station's understanding of the law at this
point. I asked about web sites like live365.com, and apparently the web
site itself takes care of the licensing fees so the program originator
doesn't have to. Anyone know if this is true?
