Ditto. I'm 23 and living in Los Angeles, originally from North Carolina. I
liked this stuff enough to pick up and move 3,000 miles to take a music
publicity job out here. Never was too hip on the major a-j names
(Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, etc.), my introduction was more through the
idm side of things leading into trip-hop (Krush, Cam, Shadow, etc.). Lived
in Bristol, UK for a year and that's where I really caught the bug. Spun on
a college radio show for five years, worked for Mammoth (indie rock label in
Chapel Hill), started doing some freelance writing on the side, and met the
guy who worked at Motormouth before me and next thing I knew I was all
packed up and heading west. Strange, innit? Nowadays I listen to some a-j
stuff (Jazzanova, K&D) but am more into deep house and electro. Haven't
heard that much trip-hop lately that paints outside the numbers, maybe it's
the music or maybe it's just me. Dunno. That's my bit...Brock
