The song is exactly "Why does my heart feel so bad?" and is Moby from his
latest full-length, entitled 'Play.' 'Tis a really beautiful piece, and
yeah, sticks in yer head.
As for the age ? 'n stuff, I'm amongst the 32-soon-to-be-33 year old headz
in the crowd. Based in Toronto, where we're lucky enough to have had shops
and radio shows attuned to the good stuff from the word 'go' (and it's only
getting better at this point, I'm happy to say). Personally, I moved from
the deep and garage house that I'd been listening to (and loads of
different stuff before that) in the early '90s, lost interest in house as
the sound grew harder and all-too-often monotonous, and was totally grabbed
by early Talkin' Loud (esp. Young Disciples), Maceo Parker, Stereo MC's,
Jhelisa, Nicolette (her first album from '92 still one of my faves), early
Ninja, Cup of Tea and, especially, the Mo' Wax 'Headz' comp. It's certainly
been exciting to see all the related sounds and musics that have grown from
jazz (and dub) over the years. Yippee!
Must say, it's been kinda fun reading everyone's responses to this query
over the past coupla days. Nice way to start the new year, especially given
how much great info and passion is exchanged via this list. XO ya'll.
