twentyone living in SF, though i grew up outside of philadelphia.
i suppose i got into things through a combination of
portishead/massiveattack etc. + listening to deep house ( marc coleman's
radio show on prb outta princeton NJ) + soul/ska interests. i also had some
"thisis" type comps for awhile. i kind of lapsed into a punkrock vibe for a
bit and then got back into acidjazz when i was around 17 and moved to
baltimore and started going to cloudwatch, fever, etc. etc. now i am mianly
into deephouse on the going out tip and downtempo + noise ( though i am just
getting a taste of it) on the at home isn't that interesting tip. cool that-

ps>not sure on the parental influence thread - they have deodato,
motown/phillystuff, yuseef lateef + folk and such though i truly can't say i
ever remember hearing it until i started buying vinyl myself and decided to
check it out.
