I listen to a lot of electronic music in my car and have also shattered a
pair of speakers...the factory supplied speakers which were a piece of crap
anyway. Since I WAS NOT going to compromise my bass, the solution was
installing a decent pair of speakers, with a Targa booster w/ crossover and
a kick ass subwoofer. This thing takes up most of the space of my small
trunk, but I can simply remove it when I need the trunk space. Go for it!
