IMHO the landmark albums of the 90s were Deee-Lite's "World Clique" and De La
Soul's "3 Feet High And Rising." When they came out, they were rather unusual
albums that were not only sample-based, but *lo-fi* sample-based. What was
"weird and unusual" back then is pretty much mainstream now.
