Acid Jazz Listers,

I'm new to this list, so I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet. Any
opinions on the Miles Davis Panthalassa Remixes?

I have the Bill Laswell gig with an excellent version of "He loved him So
Madly" and I think that one song absolutely Rocks in a Acid Trippy Ambient
way. I give a massive thumbs up to that but the rest of the CD did not
smoke my joint. As far as the Remix CD goes I believe it was released
second, I can not tell how much I dislike it. I just don't know, I was very
lucky that I was able to listen to the CD before I screwed up and bought.
If it is a voting issue I say the Bill Laswell interpretations of
Panthalassa with track 4 "He loved him so Madly" is a definite must have in
my book. See when you can take Miles and add a little Jimi Hendrix or David
Gilmour or Terje Rypdal then you have something. I think Stuart Matthewman
of Sade and Sweetback could create something very interesting in this vein
also. So you can guess I love to hear great guitar work in my Acid Jazz.
Happy Trails.

Semper Motociclismo,

Pace'
