Other folks already pitched in on this one, but here's a couple other
recent/forthcoming records on ESL that you might want to peep. All stuff
I'm working press on so take my opinion with a grain of salt! -
- "Easy Tempo" compilation CD - Italian film music from the 60's/70's, very
swank stuff. Originally from the famous European vinyl series of several
vols., the first time a lot of this stuff has been available domestically.
Most of the artists featured have names that end in "ani", "oni", or "ossi"
so you know this is the real deal! :) - Out now.
- "Jet Society" compilation CD - Supersmooth compilation of trip-hop,
bossanova beats, and lush breakbeat 'choons. It's mostly unmixed but is
still a great lounging-around-the-house-on-a-Sunday record. Recommended for
fans of the recent Kid Loco DJ Kicks, similar musical style - also close to
K&D/Jazzanova/that whole camp. - Out now, my favorite ESL disc of late.
- Thunderball "Ambassadors of Style" CD - D'n'b meets trip-hop,
loungey/posh/ESL style danceable tunes. From DC also. - Out March 13.
- Thievery Corporation - full-length in the works to be released later this
year, more info to come. Stay tuned.
