    --> PS 1 gig this Saturday <--

    as part of the summer hoopla that happens in NYC, I’ll
    be spinnin’ at PS 1 from 4-5pm on Saturday, alongside
    Swayzak, DJ Swamp and Fabrizo from Irma. Goto
    www.ps1.org for directions and details. Expect an
    abnormally funky eclectic set.

    --> Nickel and Dime Radio on WFMU <--

    from 11-2am on 91.1fm in the NYC area, 90.1fm for the
    Hudson Valley, NY region, and www.wfmu.org for all
    y’all with real audio or winamp. Its loopy, trust me.
     Freeform, commercial free, muzak programming. Also
    joining me this week is Baba, beatboxer extrodinaire
    and a mofo on the digiridoo, with full band. Has a
    12” coming out on Velour that very day. Good. We
    like it.

    --> “Stacked Deck” @ Aubette <--

    this new Wednesday shindig (8-2am, 119 E 27th, btw
    Park and Lexington, no cover) spolights funk, salsa,
    brazillian, reggae, dub, and afro-beat, with forrays
    into tru-skool hip hop, deep house, abstract grooves,
    and jazzy (but, don’t worry, no fusion BS allowed)
    drum n’ bass. Even some friggin’ funkay rock. This
    shit is deep. Guest selectors include C-Lay, DJ
    E.S.E., and Gerald McBoing Boing, and they got mad
    rekkids. Good food, slightly expensivo drinks,
    cigars, the whole nine. If they give you shit about
    how you’re dressed just say you’re someone famous.

    --> Mo’ Weeklies <--

    --> ”Weekend Getaway” @ Bar XVI
    this is my long running (almost three years) gig over
    at Bar XVI (16 1st Ave near 1st St., 10-4am, 5 bones).
     I bring a lot of records, yes. Much ol’ skool,
    dancehall, some breaks and house, quality funk and
    salsa, and some classics fer the kids. A good time
    out if yr lookin’ fer one. Lemme know if you want on
    some guest list action.

    --> ”Stolen Moments” @ Aubette
    in case you wanted to hear some REAL FRIGGIN’ JAZZ
    then you’ve found it (8-2am, 119 E. 27th btw. Park and
    Lexington, no cover), right after a tempermental
    weekend come down and chill the kcuf out. I mix in
    blues, country, a lil’ groove and funk, but mostly
    classic jazz in all its glorious flavas, from grainy
    New Orleans to Swing to Hard Bop to West Coast to
    Straight Ahead to Soul Jazz to Avant. Kenny G
    occassionaly drops by with guest solos. Not.

    --> Instructions on how to never hear from me again
    <--

    just say “I really found you’re email quite
    interesting, I’ll let you know if anything comes up”
    in the subject line. Or “Go to Hell”.

    Lates,

    stylee@wfmu.org
