Hey Maria, Hey all...
Something similar happened to me in my University. We had a free
party in one of the squares the other night, and I was allowed to play a 2
hour set. After the first 10 minutes people just looked strangely at me, but
half an hour in the set I had around 200 people dancing (which for a rookey
like me was very cool) After the set, some people came up to me and asked
that same question: Hey, this music is nice... what is it? - Erm... Dunno...
Acid-jazz maybe? i replied. They all looked at me funny and left... I did
feel like a bit of an alien... but hey... maybe it's them who are the
aliens...

I invited a few colleagues of mine to my new London flat last Friday...
very proudly I started playing some of the CDs that I consider to be the
best of my collection trying to give quite a large variety of styles...
my excitement was enormously betrayed when I realized after the first 4-5
CDs the fellas were, yes, having a good time but
they had a -very puzzled expression- on their face with regard to the
music....
...eventually after the first 2 minutes of St. Germaine....someone asked
'what kind of music is this ???'
I felt like an alien....
next time I invite them I will make sure I waste some money on some brit pop
& Enrique Iglesias summer tunes !!!

I saw this morning that Dusty Groove (http://www.dustygroove.com)
had the 12" for Rose Rouge. They also had the double vinyl for
Tourist. They are listed under the 'new Grooves' section. Don't
think they had the CD, but you can get that anywhere (CDNow,
Amazon, etc.).
Personal note... First time I heard this album I thought it was
crap. It's really grown on my though and turns out to be a better,
more varied, more mature, listen than Boulevard.
