Hmmm, how are things different today now that many electronica artists work
out of their own studios? Why would I need a mondo 48-track studio when my
hard-disk based digital audio workstation can do just fine? I may have to
get the whole thing mastered in a pro facility, but still the expense would
be waaaaaaaay less than conventional means.
Also, the technology exists today for even a standard guitar/drums band to
record drums (the hardest instrument to record!) in a pro studio and record
the rest in a private or smaller facility...
