    This is just for your reading enjoyment, and not for discussion here,
    but read this essay by maestro Steve Albini on why record companies
    are the devils children. He even gives numbers! It's quite nasty (and
    long). It does come from a sort of garage-band perspective, but so be
    it. So does the american music industry.
