UK Garage is not a fad, trend, or novelty. Some of the best producers
from this scene are MJ Cole, Bump & Flex, N and G (Norris Windross and
Grant Nelson), Dreem Teem, Tuff Jam, Artful Dodger, Wookie, Zed Bias,
Sunship (Ceri Evans of Acid Jazz fame on Dorado/Filter), Y- Tribe,
Marvel & Eli, Steve Gurley (ex- Foul Play, Jungle), and DJ Luck & MC
Neat. Sure there are few novelty records like Dee Kline "I don't Smoke
the Reefa", Oxide & Nuetrino's "Bound 4 the Reload (Casualty)", and
Wacko Bass "Dirty Dianna" (Yes, Michael Jackson samnple), but in Jungle
there were many too. Same with House. Remember remixing R&B tunes like
Destiny's Child "Say my name", K. C. & Jo Jo- "Tell me, it's for real",
David Lynden Hall's "Forgive Me", Kelis' "Good Stuff(?)", and Angel
Lee's "What's Your Name" are good ways on getting this music played on
the radio. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. This music is fun,
energetic, soulful, and it gets the ladies shakin' some serious ass on
the floor. I see it everytime when I play my residency @ Sanctuary
(Phoenix). I see alot of junglists leaving their scene for the
infectious, niced up sounds of UK Garage. Alot of hip hop heads locally
are feeling the 2- Step also. Look at all the Acid Jazz artists that
werte remixed Jamiroquai (MJ Cole), Brand New Heavies (Artful Dodger),
Jhelisa (Sunship), Incognito (MJ Cole), Merz (MJ Cole), Barrie K. Sharpe
and Dianne "Masterplan" (Groove Chronicles), Masters at Work (MJ Cole)
(OK, they're House). UK Garage is comin' on strong.

In time, you'll see this music evolve. And the novelty records will
be left in the dust. I can still play Dreem Teem's "the Theme' and MJ
Cole's "Sincere" and there from '97. So, some records see the longevity.
To all you UK Garage/ 2- Step haters, sorry you don't understand it.
Gilles Peterson sure does, he signed MJ Cole didn't he. Plus he plays
many UK Garage tracks in his sets now. I hope you all can get a better
    understanding of it.
