hi everyone,
I'm very excited to be able to share that Smith & Mighty are coming back to
Toronto. After the incredibly good vibe of their packed show here this past
February, and an April tour that had to be postponed, there is a lot of
excitement in town about this totally confirmed date. Please do join us.
:-)
Take care all. In the name of happy dubbing and dancing....

They're coming back!!! The legendary Smith & Mighty are returning to town!
Sunday July 9, the bass-lovin' Bristol soundboys step it up and treat
Toronto to a second special evening of roots and good vibes. Early this
past February, Rob Smith, Ray Mighty and Peter D. blessed the Fez
turntables with their distinctive blend of roots reggae, dub, and drum 'n
bass. It was a special evening that left people sweating, stomping and
cheering for more. You want it, you got it. Now, as a special milk.
presentation, Smith & Mighty return in a Sound System stylee, featuring the
one they call MC Kelz on the mic.
Smith & Mighty have been touring steadily since the release of their recent
Big World, Small World. Now, supporting the Studio K7 re-issue of their
previously rare 1995 Bass Is Maternal classic, the guys return to
demonstrate just why they've oft been credited with forging the blueprint
for dubtempo and drum 'n bass. MC Kelz, featured heavily on Big World,
Small World, is also a Bristol mainstay, with his blazing performance on
the S&M hit, "Seeds," only scratching the surface of his skills. As for
Smith & Mighty themselves, after more than a decade of steady production,
they've finally been receiving the mad props, praise & press that they
deserve. Longtime fans of S&M or their various offshoots such as More
Rockers, Jaz Klash or the early 3 Stripe posse certainly know why - now
newcomers can as well.
The Smith & Mighty sound system will be joined by resident milk. DJ's Felix
& Gani, and by CKLN's Sassa'le and Denise Benson. Tickets are $12 in
advance (limited supply at Rotate This and Vice). Doors open at 9pm.
