I picked up the "new?" collaboration between Toshinori Kondo, Eraldo
Bernocchi and Bill Laswell. It's called Charged and is on Innerhythmic
Records... there's no release date on it, but I assume it was just
released. It's wilder than Kondo's effort with DJ Krush, even sporting a
drum and bass track that's surprisingly good! All in all I'm pleased with
it, although on a couple of songs I get the feeling that they think a few
riffs and funky trumpet lines can be passed off as a complete song when
it's makeshift at best.
Other purchases : The Invisible Pair of Hands - Disparation (Cup of Tea) :
These guys are just plain weird!! Overall it reminds me of a mixture of
Receiver and Purple Penguin.
State of Bengal - Visual Audio (One Little Indian/Betel Nut) - Middle
Eastern drum and bass, works quite well except the one song where he raps,
which sucks!!
