Tehcnically, you *can* capture its sound, if you distort it the right way and do
other tricks, like add a realistic tremolo. I've made pretty good Rhodes
emulations on a couple of my synths, and I've even programmed a killer Wurlitzer
on a DX7 that I've never seen any other synth top.
But what you can't capture is its *feel*. That I will easily admit.
Forget about softsynths, I don't trust them to make serious music. Sure, they're
fun uses for a computer, like Rebirth, but they're mostly for little kiddies who
think an OB-8 is some sort of feminine hygene product. Besides, they're a pain
to use live.
