Greetings. I picked up this record by a trumpet player, Eric Truffaz called
"the Dawn" on Blue Note. The song the Dawn is a moody trumpet miles thing
with hectic live beats in a house-not-house style. I don't think anyone
would blink if this was put in a set of all electronically programmed stuff.
There are other drum and bass tracks on this record but "the Dawn" is
definitely the keeper. The MC on the record is a bit embarrassing however.
Anyway, my question is are there any other contemporary jazz musicians out
there that are coming at it from the other side like this? Didn't hear/read
much about this blue note record and was wondering if there are other
current artists, considered more to be in the jazz genre, that are slipping
by me. Thanks for any help.
