This week’s new releases and restocks list is now posted on our website
(http://www.groovedis.com). Big week for downtempo and house not house fans
(especially Truby Trio fans). And if you were wondering what ever happened
to the new People Records compilation or the Sounds Like Inertia 2 vinyl
sampler, we should see both of them in the next week or two. In addition to
those releases there should be a lot of big titles coming up in the next
month so start saving now.
Highlights This Week (05/08/2000):
Acid Jazz/Downtempo/Trip-Hop: Capsule album on Catskills (“Elvis Presley
meets Barry White”??!!), Coldfeet 12” on Compost remixed by Truby Trio, the
new DJ Cam album “Loa Project” (vinyl this week, CD next week), Digital
Bled- the band behind “Fonkarabic” release their debut album “Caravan” along
with a new 12” remixed by Ashley Beedle, Mr. Gone 12” remixed by Truby Trio,
and one of our picks for the week the Silent Poets new 12” remixed by
Extended Spirit and Mighty Bop. The other pick of the week is Mark De Clive
Lowe’s “6 Degrees Sampler”—one time only pressing of this killer house not
house/jazz house/jazzy hip hop EP. Already a fave with everyone from Rainer
Truby to the guys at Giant Step! One other big record to pick up (on CD Only
this week) is BBE’s Stop & Listen 5 compiled by Masters At Work: Kenny Dope
& Lil Louie Vega.
Big Beat/Breakbeat/Nu Skool Breaks: new limited edition Cut La Roc 12” on
Skint (only 800 made!), straight outta Ohio comes the Dirty Birds EP
featuring Richard Pryor samples and remixes from Los Chicharrons and Deeds
Plus Thoughts (and getting mad hype from Meat Katie, Andy Smith, Krafty Kuts
and DJ Stix), and the On The Floor At The Boutique 3 Mix CD done by label
head honcho Midfield General (aka Damien Harris).
Drum & Bass: VERY limited Mo’ Wax promos featuring an Optical remix of
Divine Styler’s new 12”, Peshay vs. Special Forces (aka Photek) double 12”,
new Total Science 12”, the new Jump Up Touchdown triple album on Lacerba (CD

House: the debut album from France’s Demon (“Lil Fuck”) now in on CD along
with a brand new 12” called “Regulate”, new Gene Farris 12” on Soma,
Romanthony in disguise as Fat Pussy Cat drops a new 12” on Glasgow
