      Announcing Nefarious Records' New Release:
      Bloomington Electronic Music Coalition v2.0

It has been two long years since local electronic musicians from
Bloomington, IN banded together and, headed by Josh Moline of
i.s.o.t.t., released the 7-track Bloomington Electronic Music Coalition
compilation [BEMC for short]. In the expanse of time since, two BEMC
artists have conspired to release a sequel, and the realization of
that sequel, BEMC volume 2, has arrived.

The BEMC 2 compilation is referred to as "version 2.0", an upgrade of
the 1998 effort, and indeed it is. With twice as many Bloomington
electronic artists showcased this time around [13 total], including
three veterans from the first BEMC, this sequel compilation asks
      to be taken seriously.

Local drum'n'bass artists such as Chris Leighty, Tabula Raza, and
Aslan's can be heard, as well as ambient offerings from Zed and Part,
jazz-influenced pieces from DrXL and Bobby Mono, and hard-edged dance
beats courtesy of The Xynochronous Weasel and Shawn Delaney. The harsh
noise of Slave Cylinder and exdeath, as well as the more experimental
works by Grier & Bentley and Game Boy, help to round out what is
already an eclectic and thorough mix of material.

At the same time, however, the producers, George Patrick [Nefarious
Records, The Xynochronous Weasel] and Jeremy Lindemann [Slave
Indvstries, Slave Cylinder] have said that they worked toward a
coherent, almost thematic track flow from the very beginning, an
effort that clearly shows when listening to the disc's smooth
      transitions and intelligent arrangement.

The BEMC v2.0 is limited to only 500 pressed [not CD-R] copies,
and features full-color packaging and liner notes designed by
      Slave Indvstries Design.

While the CD itself is too long to be sold online through MP3.com,
[almost 72 minutes!] it is available at http://www.NefariousRecords.com.
The tracks have also been made available for listening and/or download
at http://www.mp3.com/bemc. Be sure to purchase the CD if you like what
you hear to help support underground, local music...especially since
the artists on the disc helped fund the project.
