According to the site, Samuel is John Shaft(Richard Roundtree)'s nephew.
Soundtrack lists Isaac Hayes theme but also (a)R(se) Kelly and several other
members of the warbling=soul singing school.
Still, Busta Rhymes as his assistant should be cool.
Richard
P.S. For further John Singleton / Busta Rhymes ( / Ice Cube) check out the
film 'Higher Learning'(1995) or at least buy the soundtrack. A few pants rap
and r&b tunes but a nice Meshell effort and a Tori Amos cover of 'Losing my
religion' that made me hunt for the CD for a couple of years.

Which, by accounts is still true, Jackson plays a cousin or
something. But, the real reason for it all is that Isaac Hayes is
doing the soundtrack which is the really reason why we so value the
movie.
