>From the news story:
"There's nothing wrong inside the band," founder and singer/guitarist Billy
Corgan said on Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM. "But the way the culture
is and stuff, it's hard to keep trying to fight the good fight against the
Britneys," he said, referring to Britney Spears and other teen pop
sensations.
The man has a great way with words (emphasis on 'and stuff'), and seems like
a very dedicated musician, I guess it's a tough fight in the whole pop space
if you try to compete against the Britneys of the world..... The fool comes
across like an absolute blabbering idiot. If the key motivation in making
music is to sell 1.5 million CDs in the first week, I guess Pumpkins are
truly no loss..

Besides, the Pumpkins were nothing more than a lame, formulaic copy of The
Pixies (female bassist, Asian-American guitarist, enigmatic, bald-headed
singer)
