Newies...I'm shopping in NYC at Satellite and Other and BBS. Is there
anyone in the City that gives away a discount card like KCRW in LA? I hate
paying full price...(at Tower it was $2 off any CD above $10 and Virgin was
15% off with the KCRW membership card...)
    Newies...

    on CD:

    - Beanfield "Human Patterns" (Compost)
Yes, I realize that I'm late to this one, and I think I own pretty much the
rest of the Compost back catalog, but this one I've really enjoyed. I
don't know why it took me so long to get it.

    - GU015 Global Underground - Darren Emerson - Uruguay
Although the GU stuff is some of the most commercial dance music I buy,
when I stop to think about the pleasure I get from that series, I think
it's well worth the price. I think they've done more to elevate the DJ to
"rock star" status, which I think is a negative in general, but I do like
what they do and how they do it (in general.) I'm not too picky about GU
comps- I know what I'm paying for and there are times when I just don't
want to think about it and just throw one in and usually have a great time
    listening.

    on vinyl:

    - ame strong "tout est bleu" (francois k. mix, dub and original) delabel
    records
An oldie but a goodie. Pretty much a ubiquitous track but I didn't have
    the remix on vinyl.

    - Limbo Experience (Tom y Joyce, Rollercone and original mix) yellow
    productions
I forget if this is on "Bossa Tres Jazz" or if it's a new one. My record
collection is still in transit (as are my turntables) so I only remember
that it was really good when I heard it in the store.

    - Tom Chasteen "Freedom" (remixes by Scott Hardkiss, Kerri Chandler/Jerome
    Sydenham) f111 records
I bought this mainly because of the Hardkiss remix. f111 is such a cool
label- they really seem to be cherry-picking great tracks from across all
    genres.

    - 16b (Omid Nourizadeh) "Smile" (alola records)
16b is probably my favorite deep house artist. I don't know why his music
touches me as it does...that full-length of his really blew me away. I get
the feeling that he has a niche in deep house that is his and only
    his. Kinda cool.

    - Cultural Mambo "Docking in Outer Space" (tiny trendies mix) nuphonic records
I love most stuff on Nuphonic and moreso anything by tiny trendies. Does
anyone know more about them? This is afro-beat-ish-house but it's not too
    afro, imho. I like it.

    - Cibo Matto "Moonchild" (Derrick Carter remix) f111
This one debuted in Miame (so I'm told) and I was dying to get it because
the original is my favorite Cibo Matto track (not that I'm a huge CM fan
per se.) I'm not too familiar with the Derrick Carter sound but it's
    pretty hard house-ish.

    - Various Artists "Harry the Bastard presents Club 'H'" strata records
This has been out for a year maybe, but hasn't been commented on much (as
far as I remember.) I have this CD and I bought it on vinyl because I love
it so much (as I do the Tom Middleton "Jedi's Night Out" compilation.)
