I don't think acid jazz is as popular these days, because of the
progression of original groovers into drum & bass, deep "jazzy" house,
down- tempo, nu- skool breaks/ big beat, and now 2- Step/ UK Garage.
Like Gilles, Jazzanova, Sunship (on Filter), Norman Jay, Jazzie B. (Soul
ll Soul), and many others(like myself) finding an interest in 2- Step.
MJ Cole is a master of combining soulful jazzy grooves within the "2-
Step/ UK Garage" genre . I still love tracks by Young Disciples, BNH,
Courduroy, Jhelisa, UFO, Mother Earth, and earlier Jamiroquai. It's
funny how some artisis like Jhelisa (Sunship), Soul ll Soul (Wookie),
Jamiroquai (MJ Cole), and Brand New Heavies (Artful Dodger) have been
remixed by 2- step producers. What's next United Future Organization
remixed by MJ Cole, Shit, he's doing everyone!!!) That would be nice.

Has anyone heard the first Sunship LP? Amazing. The "13th Key"
remxed by Black Science Orchestra is beautiful. Now, Ceri Evans is doing
some outstanding UK Garage on Sunship's "is this Real' LP (released in
'98). I still need to find a copy, I've only heard tracks on their
www.dorado.net site. The new "cheque one, cheque two' is phat also.
Jazzy and boombastic 2-step, nice!!!!! Anyways, that's been the
direction I see Acid Jazz moving to.

    My 2 cents.
