Tempo of the Down,
I picked up the Truffaz'e "The Mask" on Blue Note a couple of months ago and
it really sonically hit the spot for me. I really do enjoy the sound of
acoustic upright bass and cosmic trumpet. Truffaz has a website
http://www.eriktruffaz.com so check it out. I have Le Gooster on some
complilations on Shadow Records and they are a must have. Also if you like
Truffaz you should check out Nils Petter Molvaer's "Khmer" which is on EMC
and is availble domestically in the U.S. also his latest "Smooth Ether"
also on ECM is an import and I ordered it from http://www.amazon.com. No
smaller place had access to it. Also check out Ben Neill's "Triptycal" on
Antilles. Also P'taah's "Compressed Light" on Ubiquity. Also a real gem I
recently found was Stuart Matthewman's score to the Movie "Twin Falls,
Idaho" which is on Sony and can be picked up also at http://www.yahoo.com
If you are looking for unique vibes then give me a holler.
Semper Motociclismo,
Pace'
I believe that Eric was also a member of the group Le Gooster. The last
thing that I remember them putting out was a few years ago. They had some
work out in the U.S. on Shadow records.
