I recently bought a portable CD player to make my commute pass a little
faster, and I've been buying continuous mix CDs to listen to in order to
keep me awake on my subway ride into the city. Can anyone recommend any
good ones? Here's a short list of what I have so far:
Cold-Krush-Cuts -- Coldcut & DJ Food, DJ Krush
Brainfreeze -- Cut Chemist & DJ Shadow
FSUK2 -- Freestylers
FSUK4 -- Cut La Roc
INCredible Sound of Gilles Peterson -- Gilles Peterson (2CD UK version)
All Systems Are Go Go -- Ursula 1000
Club "H" -- Harry The Bastard
Music For The Maasses -- Timo Maas
live recording -- Kruder & Dorfmeister (courtesy of The Organic Compound,
WUOG 90.5FM)
DJ Kicks -- Kid Loco, Stereo MCs, Thievery Corporation
On The Floor Of The Boutique -- Fatboy Slim
Sound Of The Nu Skool, vol. one -- Fresh Records
Dirtchamber Sessions -- Prodigy
Wall Of Sound Essentials -- Wiseguys
As you can gather, I'm really into the beats and turntablists and downtempo
with a growing interest in this whole jazzy house thing.
Also, is there any place to find Coldcut's Journeys By DJ mix? Is this out
of print? Is there anyone in the States that's willing to burn a copy for
me? Lemme know, as this is supposed to be the penultimate mix CD.
Peace,
Ha
p.s. is it true that Touche from Wiseguys did a mix for Ministry Of Sound?
