Not quite AJ...
I was tasked to put on tape a series of songs for a friend's wedding, which
will be played during guest reception and cocktails. I've asked the couple to
tell me what they want to hear, and they suggested songs that are a bit on the
soul/r n b/jazz (well, mushy, and not-quite-pop and not-quite-underground) tip,
with some oldies tossed in between. I've listed down a few songs. Here it
goes:
George Benson - Moody's Mood
Mary J Blige - Our Love
Keith Sweat - Nobody
Bill Withers/Al Jarreau/Soul 4 Real/Lighthouse Family - Ain't No Sunshine
D'Sound - Tattoed On My Mind
Grover Washington Jr - The Best Is Yet To Come
Maxwell - Whenever Wherever Whatever
Lisa Stansfield/Barry White - Never Never Gonna Give You Up
Teena Marie - Wishing On A Star
Tevin Campbell - I'm Ready
Heatwave - Always & Forever
Aaliyah/Isley Borthers - At Your Best
Sade - No Ordinary Love
Oleta Adams - Hold Me For A While
Incognito - Beneath The Surface
Simply Red - For Your Babies
Sinead O'Connor (hehehe....) - Someone To Watch Over Me
Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On
Nothing fancy here. In fact, others may find this list in bad, bad taste, but
what can I do? At least I did the couple a big favor! :)
I know this wedding playlist thing has been discussed a while back, but I need
your inputs. Badly. Email me privately if you like, so that we won't be
disturbing our fellow jazzheads!
Best,
Mike
