dublab just had Aidan Girt from Godspeed drop by this month while he was on tour. He played some CDR's of new material from his own project 1-Speed Bike. Check out the archive when you've got a moment.

Wow, you mean you know who Godspeed You Black Emperor is? Being from
Montreal, Canada (that's where Godspeed's from), I obviously know of them,
but I'm surprised to hear that their becoming internationally recognized.
Personally, I'm not crazy about them, as I feel that what they're doing was
done by bands like Genesis (Peter Gabriel era), King Crimson and other
prog-rock bands about 30 years ago, and much better at that. Considering
that it's rock and that everything's been done a thousand times already, I
don't feel that GYBE is contributing anything significant or groundbreaking
to music, and you sure can't dance to it! Just my two bits worth, but I'd
love to hear from those who disagree with me, as I'd really wanna know what
the big deal is with these guys. I'm convinced it's just hype.
