A perspective from a "playlist" provider. My motivations:
1. Inform the list of what we're playing and what's pique-ing (sp.?) our interest in music. I don't think there are that many contributors from Texas, so it gives a Texan perspective (albeit a transplanted one; most Houstonians that are active in the music scene seem to have been transplanted from somewhere EAST)
Side note to that: some members of the list have contributed good stuff that we have broadcast on our show; i.e. E-Trinity, R.Scott (oo-soul) and some gentlemen from Argentina, who's name I forget.
2. Since about June or so this year we've been live on-line and I'd like to get folks to listen to the show on a worldwide basis; the broadcast is commercial-free because its public radio (Pacifica) and I'm a volunteer at the station, so there's nothing for us to gain commercially.
