No idea what Goldie is up to of late, but some quick feedback on the seven
tracks I've heard thus far from the new Roni/Reprazent: Personally, I'm
really disappointed. I was hoping to be blown away (of course) as I was
with New Forms, and that this new album would help to push d&b/jungle
forward... somewhere new, fresh, different. Instead, I find the
beats/programming to be way more aimed at the dancefloor, very Full Cycle
in nature. There's not the sense kind of sense of experimentation and
wide-eyed wonder at how various sounds and forms of music can be melded
into one, new thing. It's not fun, straight-from-the-heart music to my
ears. It doesn't help either that the track featuring Method Man is one of
the most misogynist things I've heard in a while.

Obviously, this is totally subjective; I've just grown real tired of the
whole dark, dancefloor d&b thang, and find this doesn't step much beyond
that. Then again, I really liked the Breakbeat Era AND the Photek, so we
may simply like different stuff. :-) Roni has said in the new Urb that
he's way happy with this album, and that it's closest to what he hears in
his head, so go figure. I'm totally curious to hear the thoughts of others
on this list as the music gets out there. The first single, "Who Told
You"....ugh! is all I can say. You guys?

What's the URL for Finley? Is Spiritualized the new LP? Is it out? I
loooooove this man's music and can't wait for a new release. 'Maverick a
Strike' still goes with me for every long drive. Thanks in advance for the
    info. Take care.
