woah, i'm cleaning out my inbox and caught your earlier conversation about
mexico. eelco, you should get in touch with axel (abarcel@indiana.edu),
who's also on this list. he's a good friend of mine from school and he's on
his way back to el districto federal, mexico city next week. he's even been
talking about getting a cafe or club going in the city. he comes from an
artsy/abstract/acid house sensibility.

hey eel,
I love Joe Claussell's work. His solo album, Language, is only OK
though, in
my humble opinion with a couple of good tracks. If you can find the New
Latinaires compilations, there are three now, you will find some good
work
by Joe, especially the second one which has that great remix of
Snowboy's
Casa Forte on it. If you can find the Femi Kuti remix album, Shoki
Remixed,
there are a couple of great remixes on that, provided you like the
African
end of music. Joe's work appears on lots of compilations and, if you
like
stuff that has an orientation toward percussion, then his stuff is up
your
alley, it is what I really like about his remixing and production work,
heavy emphasis on the percussion end of the spectrum, I am a big fan of
Joe
Claussell.
Have a great weekend!
