Just picked up "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea", P.J. Harvey's latest. While this is not electronic in any sense of the word, many very cool musical styles get discussed here, and you guys simply need to listen to this thing. Pure alterna-rocker chick, heavy guitar laden music, a-la Patti Smith. I've noticed that it's been getting rave reviews on all the indie rags around here, and after 3 listens, I can confirm that the reviews are right on the mark. This record rocks the house down, and considering that I haven't been buying too much of this kinda genre lately, it's exactly what the doctor ordered. I doubt that those of you who like guitar driven alterna-chick-rock will be disappointed. While it's too early to say whether P.J's latest is as good or better than her "big hit", "To Bring You My Love", I'd say it ranks up there. Check it out.
