    BIO SKETCH: Sunni is a native of New Orleans, LA and a Senior, majoring in
    English at the historic Tuskegee University. It is through community
    activity, teaching and poetry that Sunni shares herself with the world.
    Upon graduation, Sunni plans to teach English and Creative Arts to high
    school students in her hometown of New Orleans. Sunni also has ambitions to
    open a community center in her neighborhood. Sunni has performed in several
    venues across the South, including New Orleans, Montgomery, Birmingham and
    Mississippi. Sunni feels a strong connection to her ancestral past,
    stating: "I write the words of the ancestors who can no longer speak or sing
    songs of freedom, upliftment and peace, except through the words of a poet.
    I am because they died, and I write so that they may live."
