I have to concur with the new Ian Simmonds full-length. I picked it up
while in Seattle last week...I was surprised that I have not heard about
it.
But it just sounds so fine in all of the right places. I have heard
several tracks before, but wasn't sure who the artist was. Now I know.
Indeed, it is essential listening.
BTW...listened to the new Jazztronik and Fertile Ground albums last
night. Jazztronik sounded a little bit like "smooth jazz" to me, but it
still holds up fine and good. Fertile Ground was a bit of a
surprise...sounded like 70s soul with a bit of jazz and Latin sounds
thrown in. That one is a keeper, as well.
