after two weeks of no BiS emails, we're back.... I had a corrupted hard
drive, but I finally got a new one installed and working, so hopefully I
won't have to deal with that again for awhile. Let's see, what's been
going on in space... the website now has archives up of the March 18th
show and I also encoded the first hour so that people could listen to it
in streaming real audio if you wanted (along with the usual mp3's).
I'll, hopefully, be uploading some mp3's of the band I've been playing
with later on in the week as well.... if you wanna check the band out
live, scroll down to the bottom of the email for info about where we're
playing.
favorite tracks from the march 18th and april 1st shows? Jungle Brothers
"the promo" is really, really good... very minimal, but it's a killer
and Q-Tip is featured on it as well. You can pick that up on the Gee
Street repress of "Straight Out of The Jungle". Another album doing it
for me is "Urban Revolutions" on Future Primitive Sound. great tracks
from Z-Trip, Shadow and Cut Chemist (part of the Brainfreeze album),
Aromadozeski Therapy, Rob Swift, and a bunch of other people. keep an
eye out for it. other albums worth checking: Wagon Christ "Musipal" on
Ninja Tune, Trouble Makers "Doubts & Convictions" on Guidance, Pink
Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" on Gramaphone (haha...err, yeah, it's
not new, but I've been listening to it... ever seen it played to the
"Wizard of Oz" movie? some strange coincidences)
