Jeez Chris, sounds like it takes quite a bit of work on your part to
produce your CDs. The shortest route I've used is going directly to
the sound in on my G4, recording the whole mix in Peak, then cutting
the tracks apart manually and burning the CDs in Adaptec Jam. I've
gotten the technique down to the point where I can record, master and
slice a 74 minute disc in about two hours.
Agreed about the sound quality, it's not perfect, but sounds quite
good in most situations. The headroom isn't massive, but the S/N
ratio is pretty good and it rarely distorts or flutters (you gotta
push it hard). So I just beef up the high end using the Waves plugins
and run a mastering limiter on it, crisp and loud!
my .02, best o luck,
.aaron
ps: coming to the buddha lounge tonight? I'll be playing records with
anthony... I'll list you +2 just in case, cool?
