yeah there's probably an element of truth in that...
>Can anyone recommend any compilations?
...but to be honest I hope this stuff doesn't get too pigeon-holed with a
sudden rush of compilations.
Let's keep it fresh.
Anyone agree.
Just my opinion, but I dont see it getting stale just yet. The compilations
have been out for a while and I havent got tired of 'em... still fresh.
Compilations are cool because not everybody can afford to break with 10
dollars for one import 12", several a month... or week at that. Plus there
are those who don't even buy vinyl and they deserve the music on cd too.
However, I do get a *little* annoyed when I see something like P'taahs
Decompressed album for which I'd bought all the 12"s from 1998-2001 and the
only new stuff were 3 tracks. But I don't like to wait and I do like
Ubiquity, so its really all good on that. I guess this has been the case
with many of the nujazz compilations out of London but I wasnt up on this
stuff untill summer of last year.
Oh, forgot in the last post, Off Centre 2 is pretty nice too.
PS. ordered a copy of Julie Dexter's - The Plan off Juno but they didn't
have any left in stock. I guess it serves me right for not oredering it
straight away. Anyone know where I can find another copy online? Preferably
from the UK.
Just curious, why from the UK? What about Groovedis (if they still have it).
All the copies come from the UK as far as I know.
