Did anyone else catch Jill Scott on Letterman last night? She did 'A Long Walk' - hardly any great surprise.

What impressed me was two things - first, everytime I have seen hewr perform that or any other song, it has never been the same twice. There's always some element of growth or variation that keeps the music fresh, something I wish other live performers would take note of. Second, you could really see the artistic skills of all the back-up musicians. (Especially the bass player - he was doing some real trailblazing.) But at the same time, no one was trying to out-perform the others. It blended amazingly well.

Any other thoughts?
