Jason,
Thank you so much for your steer to Primal Roots, even though I have owned
it for sometime, it had been submerged in my collection and your mentioning
it sent me scurrying off to locate it and slide it onto the decks where it
is still playing. You are right, it is a lovely album. I have always felt
that Sergio Mendes was somehow not given the respect he was due so I am glad
to connect with another fan. Its true that some of his stuff verges on the
middle of the road but so much of his work is, to me at any rate, pretty
damn good. I like the textures in the arrangements and the use of percussion
as well. The Dori Caymmi song is wonderful as well!
cheers and thanks Jason
