If you're looking for CDs, I know all the Virgin Megastores have an "Acid
Jazz" section, though last time I went to one, I can't seem to find it
anymore. You can also look in the "Electronica" "Jazz" and "Import" sections.
A lot of independent stores have some good stuff. Try Aron's on Highland
(north of Santa Monica Blvd) in Hollywood, or scour through the used bins
at Rockaway in Silver Lake or any of the Moby Disc outlets in the area. You
might also want to try Fingerprints in Long Beach.

Oh yeah, the famed Amoeba record store chain from the Bay Area will open
its first Los Angeles store this fall...they will be on Sunset & Cahuenga,
just a few steps away from the Cinerama Dome.

If you're looking for vinyl, check out any of the record stores on Melrose
(Beat Non Stop, Wax, etc) or Vermont Avenue in Los Feliz Village (Vinyl
    Fetish or Fat Beats).
