This is an interesting point. I find some of what we are listening to now is
no different *musically* to Acid Jazz c1995 (or from the 70s for that
matter). The difference is in the production/engineering which admittedly
leads to some new grooves (eg drum'n'bass) but a lot of the nu-jazz stuff is
technology driven. Not that I'm complaining - I like it. But there's only so
much you can do with harmony/melody/groove before it stops being music this
list would be interested in.
