I just got in from the most awesome party for the Fela project
http://www.felakuti.net. DJ Rich Medina really did a lovely job spinning the
afrobeat at Shine in NYC tonight. Fela performances were playing on the film
screen all night. Levis Jeans represented and had some cat there painting
over a denim outfit like it were canvas. The music was so fierce, and the
mixes were so on point. The DJ went from afrobeat, to house, and back again.
The energy of the crowd was magnificent. I am so elated I just don't know if
I can go to bed now.

It's been a long time since I've been to a party that was really all good
vibes --- spiritual even. I suspect that is what I will encounter when body
and soul plays central park on August 11th with DJs Francois K, Danny
Krivit, and Joaquin "joe" clausell. http://www.bodyandsoul-nyc.com/.

If you are in NYC, you need to be there. At body & soul I mean. I know it
isn't acid jazz, but everything on this list seems to cater to the eclectic.
Eclectic hip hop, funk and soul, spoken word, electronica, and house.
