I don't have the Afronaught album with me right now (my cpu is down and i'm not at home), but my view of the album is that its a good progression for the broken beat / nu jazz sound.  The main attraction i have to Shapin' Fluid is the variety of styles.  As Aaron mentioned before, the album maintains an experimental edge to it (like most music in the genre) but also keeps the soul intact... especially on the more r&b tracks (which i dig... anything to push the r&b sound from the usual humdrum production).  I've been playing the whole album except I'm shying away from "Work It" only because it reminds me of down south (u.s.) "bootyshakin'" music like Luke or 2 live crew ("doo-doo brown" or "it's your birthday") which the dj's played to death at jr high school dances and high school parties, it's still a good song though, the bass is tight and would definitely get the girlies to shake ... er... ! work it :) .   As is the case with a lot of Lp's, i wish that either "Transcend Me" or "Outa Range" were not on the album because they were both on the 12"... just the way things go i guess.

I'm really looking forward to the Domu full length.  I suspect it'll impress me like the NSM album.

Another artists I'd REALLY like to see an LP from is Kaidi Tatham.  Anyone know does he have any other tracks out beside "Betcha", "Armz R Deh" and "Tell Me What Yo' Feeling"... all of which are among my favorites. And is there an original version of "betcha" that is released (i got the agent k / son of scientist 12")?

Hm. also 4 Hero's "Creating Patterns" will hopefully be out soon and not get pushed back to later in the year (Will at KUCI tells me that song I'm jocking "Hold It Down" is by them... i wonder what remix Seiji played...?...).

    Peace Out.
    Beau
