Mike Ladd "Live From Paris" - Home Style Cooking (U.S.)
After being held up for well over a year, this 11 track offering from Mike
Ladd is finally upon us. If you fancy a musical gumbo consiting of plenty of
hip hop, raregroove, elements of d'n'b and old jazz, then you're in luck.
Crisscrossing genres like it was second nature, "Live From Paris" tweens
between the downtempo riffs and heavy fx of "Myster Bruce's Realbient Intro"
right into the lyric saturated hip hop excursious to follow. It all makes
for a freeflowin', stweaty, groove that lingers in the air like cigar smoke.
Abstract, yet still right on point. Standouts include "Anti-Conquest
Reprise" with it's live d'n'b tempo drums and the stiring lyrics of "Blah
    Blah". (Sharee)
