Very simple, neat, and pragmatic. My way...of organizing - not by genre - my "Bed"
    of music:

[1] US+UK+etc. - English language or based from an English speaking country, or
artist's key market is in said country (i.e. Buena Vista Social Club), or
instrumentals from non-Asians who also aren't based in Asia
[2] Japan - Japanese language, Japanese language or English but by an artist of
Japanese descent, or artist's key market is in Japan
    [3] China [HK+TW+Singapore] - Chinese language
    [4] Korea - Korean language
[5] South East Asia - everything else
    [6] Box Sets
[7] Bootlegs, and music videos & bootleg MP3s (from CDRs) filed along with respective
    artist
[8] Freebies, Magazine CDs, and Misc. not for sale CDs
    [9] Anime Soundtracks
    [10] Video Game Music
[11] Vinyls - All vinyls (I stay away from waxy stuff so there's not much to organize)

[12] MP3s - on the PC, where else? infrequently on MiniDisc or MP3 player
