Keyser & Shuriken - newsletter #46: Bill Puka did it

    Newsflash 01. 02. 2001

    Dear friends,

Struggling with an angry army of flu viruses we have not much to write this week.
Instead of working during daytime and doing our radio show late at night we would
rather have stayed home, drinking tea and watching the falling snow through the
window for the next few months until the beautiful spring comes.

But since we didn't, we kept on rocking, so that at least those of you who have
listened to our show could feel great. (There's still chance to check out the mix
through the internet during the next week. A part of the show will be broadcasted -
hopefully - by a radio in Poland, and if everything goes well, we will be on the air
    weekly.)

This week's reading is the true story of Bill Puka, who did it:

"Bill Puka quit playing the piano at the age of eleven. And he stopped writing poems
in his notebooks a few years after that.

He was preparing to lead the straight life. Bill stayed in school, got all the
degrees necessary to teach philosophy (what else?), and then, whammo.

Then Laura Nyro Experience hit Bill. He locked himself away with Laura's music for a
few weeks, and before he could put a stop to it, all the poetry, and all the music
that he'd been suppressing for ten years, began pouring out.

To make the long story short, Columbia Records presents the recording debut of Bill
Puka. His life will be normal no more.

And soon straight people from all walks of life will be listening to Bill Puka's
chilling, beautiful, emotional music, locking themselves away with Bill's album..."

Found in Columbia Record's The Inner Sleeve (71/204)

If things in the music biz seem to be a bit more difficult, always remember to Bill
    (well, where's he now?).
